Latin Bridal is a #salesforcegrantee! I'm proud to be one of many small businesses chosen by Salesforce Essentials and Ureeka to receive the #SanFranciscoGrants. We're one of the last shops left in the Mission that cater to the Latin community's traditions, including quinceañeras and weddings. Without this much needed help we wouldn't have made it. We never respond in the form of a post, but this is the most disheartening accusation we've ever encountered in 30 years of service to our primarily Latino community - and it's a lie. A man named Rodrigo had posted a false review in retaliation for a family member or friend of his trying to violate a signed contract for a speci...al order that one of our customers was attempting to cancel. We NEVER threatened to call ICE! NEVER! For 30 years we’ve been in the Mission. We call ourselves Latin Bridal because we have dedicated three decades to serving Latinos WITH OR WITHOUT PAPERS, and we NEVER ask the citizenship status of our customers anyway, nor do we cooperate with ICE. We ourselves are Latinos! We don’t believe in ICE and we despise any form of discrimination or harassment of our undocumented community. For those interested in the story, the customer - NOT RODRIGO, by the way came to our shop requesting the cancellation of a special order that unfortunately was too late to stop. She asked for a refund, but in accordance to our contract we have a no refund policy. We were perfectly willing to accommodate her; in fact her sister had successfully postponed her quinceañera dress for the following year without a problem. Despite our attempts to work with our client, it was the intervention of a man who I'm only guessing is the client’s husband that escalated this. Unfortunately, the husband, who is NOT a signer on the contract and as such is NOT EVEN A CUSTOMER, decided to barge in and demand the money back. We reiterated our no cancellation / no refund policy on special orders. We were perfectly willing to accommodate a postponement, just as we had for the client’s sister, but he insisted on a full refund in violation of our contract. The customer's husband threatened to call his f---ing attorney so we will see him in court if that’s the case (and since the customer has a written contract he will lose), but we will also countersue for libel. To accuse us of threatening to call ICE is a bald-faced, disgusting lie that we will fight in court if we have to.
