Calling all Leaders We are gearing up for our 2020-2021 Youth Leadership Program (YLP) and we need leaders! It is imperative we support and guide tomorrow’s future leaders. It is our hope to find women willing to commit to this same mission and serve as a mentor/Leader. ... We’d like to recruit 18 new Leaders to help us make our 2020-2021 Youth Leadership Program a complete success. We will provide all training and materials. The Youth Leadership Program requires a full commitment from the students to learn from their peers, and adult leaders, by participating in a series of workshops designed to prepare them for life choices. The young ladies are exposed to an array of topics: how to work in teams, college admissions/requirements/application, goal setting, and community engagement. The role of a leader is to guide, support and encourage our participants throughout the program. If you’d like additional information about the program, what your role, as a leader, entails and the date of our leader orientation, please contact our Leader Coordinator- Sarah Sanchez at (661)747-4999 or email her at [email protected] or at [email protected] We hope you join us in this journey!

LLKC would like to recognize an amazing Latina Leader who has relentlessly been an advocate for our children. Not only was she named "Educator of the Year" by the Shafter Chamber of Commerce for 2020, but Rosa Romero has also attained an amazing accomplishment with her recent appointment as the Richland School District's Superintendent. In addition to her career in education, Rosa has been a lead volunteer for many years with our LLKC Youth Leadership Program mentoring hundreds of high school girls within Kern County. Her passion in leadership shows and our community is so lucky to have you Rosa. Congratulations Superintendent Romero ! We are so proud of you!
Did you know that today is #NationalTrailMixDay We know you’re out there blazing a trail so, we wanted to take a moment to applaud all you have accomplished and all you will continue to do! If you face the rest of your life with the spirit you show on the trail, it will have no choice but to yield the same kind of memories and dreams....
