The sons of Louie and Lena Cortes (David, Gilbert, & Louie) remembering the days their mom and dad had them working together in the little Las Palmas kitchen on Garden Street!

A long time customer from Colorado - made a trip for a last meal and to regift a Las Palmas ash tray he was given in the 1950s from Louie Cortes!

Just spoke to a local published author Mrs Jamie Isidoro, her work Let me take you is a love story set in Visalia and the central valley....the author shared that she used Las Palmas as a setting to tell part of her story (changed the name)....looking forward to reading the book!-

After 53 years as owners and operators of Las Palmas (opened 1943) Gilberto and Alicia Cortes have decided to retire. In a bittersweet decision, Las Palmas will close its doors on Sunday, October 28 at 9:00PM. Gilberto and Alicia will miss their staff and customers but look forward to a new normal. It is possible you will see Las Palmas again, just in a different form! Thank you Visalia!

309 East Main Street, home to Las Palmas since 1967. The ground floor once housed the Fairway Meat Market and Edelstien’s Mens Clothing. The second story was once St Elmo’s House, the Pioneer Apts, and Cozy Rooms!
