The digital landscape is constantly evolving. So how might retail opportunities change to accommodate the new values opened up as a result of technology? In our latest journal, we explore the impacts technology has on our physical retail environments through the lens of the consumer: https://landstudio360.com/retail-development-integrating-a/

We’ve all had to navigate the immediate needs of creating a ‘work from home space’. For some it’s been a dedicated office, for others it’s the kitchen table. If the home office is here to stay, how will multi-family and mixed-use developments accommodate these needs? Will unit floorplans adjust to include a dedicated office space? Will the shared amenity spaces be re-designed to practically allow for efficient work opportunities? We discussed these questions with our frien...ds at KTGY Architecture + Planning and they contributed some immensely valuable insight and perspective on these questions. Join us as we explore these questions in our latest explorative journal. https://landstudio360.com/home-office-integration/

Many of us have had to figure out how to leave our offices behind and navigate working from home. Now that we've mastered WFH life, and as we move forward, is it possible to challenge the norms even further and explore if we can work from anywhere? Explore this question with us here: https://landstudio360.com/work-from-anywhere/

Work and home used to be separate. Now they seem to be one and the same. How do we blend these two environments to be a place you can efficiently work, yet also find a way to step away from the office and be at home? Can these different needs be in the same space? Join us as we explore these questions together in our latest journal below. https://landstudio360.com/workplace-respite-vs-respite-as-/

What can we learn from our past that will influence our future? As we've all learned to navigate how we live and we work through this current pandemic, LandStudio360 is looking at how we might design for a future that blends home, work and play into an environment that supports one's needs going forward. Check out the first in a digital series discussing our thoughts on how the pandemic may influence design and let us know your thoughts and ideas as we generate a discourse towards a new mindset of design: https://landstudio360.com/a-look-into-the-trends-of-multi-/

The Six, a project we collaborated on with architects Brooks+Scarpa and Skid Row Housing Trust was honored as one of ten projects as selected by the AIA’s Committee on the Environment (COTE). The Six, located in Los Angeles, offers 52 welcoming and supportive homes to individuals who have experienced homelessness, with 18 of them set aside specifically for veterans. In the military, got your six means I’ve got your back. The Six has community rooms and a spacious courtyard that offer peaceful respite and space for social gatherings on the second floor. Incorporating energy-efficiency measures that exceed standard practice, including passive design choices that maximize natural light and airflow, the project received LEED Platinum Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. Hiring a commercial Landscape Architect early on in the development and planning process can be greatly beneficial to the overall success of every project. Find out why: https://landstudio360.com/why-hiring-a-commercial-landscap/

Assisting clients on existing projects requires the close study of the existing context along with a lot of interactive collaboration with the entire design team in order to creatively execute a vision.

Retail is no longer simply retail. It now has an opportunity to provide more back to our communities beyond simple commerce: publicly engaged social space. As our advancing digital reality continues to alter our perception of what is feasible, the pandemic has left us reassessing our values, and physical retail has been hit hard by the continuing evolution of both. However, out of evolution comes new possibilities and opportunities to evaluate our priorities. Join us as we explore these concepts in our latest journal: https://landstudio360.com/a-moral-obligation-retail-is-no-/

We love the idea of mixed-use developments. They offer the opportunity to live, shop, and play all within walking or biking distance. Sounds great! So why might the retail - the shop and the play components - in these projects struggle so muuch? In our latest journal entry "The Mixed-Use Struggle" we look at how current development processes and regulatory requirements might be affecting these opportunities. Join us as we take a look at this issue in our latest journal: https://landstudio360.com/the-mixed-use-struggle/
