To all my Facebook family and friends: Please read then share this message. The United States Postal Service (USPS) is still operating during this difficult tim...e, ensuring timely delivery of goods (parcels) and other mail. Your letter carriers continues to make their rounds, visiting every household in the country, many of you know them by their name. However, we are struggling because in several areas we are in desperate need of hand sanitizer and cleaning wipes. These are needed to keep the carriers safe and to keep the public safe as they make their deliveries. Your letter carriers will be making more and more delivery of essential goods as the public is urged to stay home. UPS and Fedex will be told to stay home before your letter carrier will be told to, they are considered essential personnel. We may be the only lifeline for those most at risk in some of our communities. The USPS is a large entity and despite their best efforts to get supplies, the Postal Service has found itself basically helpless in terms of obtaining the necessary personal protection supplies in a timely manner since everything is back ordered. In some areas, supplies have been ordered but those orders were diverted to hospitals in need. CAN YOU HELP? If you have even a small bottle of sanitizer to spare or package of sanitizing wipes please considering leaving them in your mailbox with a note letting your letter carrier know they can take them, or give them to your letter carrier. A little help goes a long way. As a Nation, we will all get through this difficult time and eventually be ok if we all work together. I appreciate you taking the time to read and share this.
