While Lakeside is, and remains, closed, many RCLS libraries have been open since October 5th, offering limited service. Due to many variables, including the current stay at home order and rise in COVID-19 cases, RCLS libraries that were open for limited services will be returning to express services. Branches that were closed, such as Lakeside, will remain closed. What exactly IS express service? Express service is when you use your library card and place a hold on a book at ...an (open) branch of your choice. You then call that branch once you receive notification your item is available, schedule an appointment to pick it up, and wearing a face-covering you are able to walk up to the library and pick up your materials. If Lakeside was your library of choice, please consider utilizing other close branches such as Lake Elsinore, Wildomar, and Canyon Lake. Many of our staff are there and you'll see our friendly faces. We understand at this time you may have many questions; at this time, we don't have all the answers. Any answers available to us you can find on www.rivlib.net. We encourage you to follow your libraries online, interact with online programming, and still check out and use materials. We will do all we can to help during these trying times. To all our valued and sincerely missed Patrons, while some libraries within the Riverside County Library System have been able to re-open with limited services, some are still running only express service and a few are still closed for a variety of reasons. As many of you already know, Lakeside remains closed at this time. We are hopeful that we will have more information soon and even more hopeful that we will be back to serving our community shortly.
