https://fb.watch/252c4QOpqZ/ This is so great to see! The Lake County Land Trust would like to offer congratulations to the Utah Department of Transportation and Utah State University for their successful wildlife overpass keeping animals safe as they cross busy I-80.... Closer to home a related project is in the works. LCLT representatives are playing a role on the steering committee for the Mayacamas to Berryessa (M2B) Wildlife Corridor, headed by climate scientists at Pepperwood Preserve. This connectivity network will allow the safe migration and flow of plants and animals as they migrate and adapt to habitat loss due to climate change. Other benefits of this large, connected swath of land are the preservation of clean and plentiful water sources as well as improved wildfire management. Overall, a connected landscape creates a safe territory for wildlife to travel through and creates a resilient, healthy environment for all who abide there.

We hope you enjoy this timelapse video of wildlife moving through their native habitat at the Rodman Preserve. Keep in mind that this area is only a few square feet out of a couple of hundred acres. How many different species can you see? Credit for this video goes to LCLT supporter and friend Ed Oswalt. Thanks Ed! #crittercam #wildlife #rodmanpreserve #naturelover #takeastandfortheland #wildanimals #nature

Ever feel like you’ve bitten off more than you can chew? Ok,ok, technically this scrub jay didn’t bite anything off, and birds don’t actually chew their food... but this jay will need to find a hiding place for this find and then peck the hard acorn shell apart so he can ingest by simply dropping pieces down his throat. Turkeys, mallards and wood ducks just eat acorns whole. Birds are fascinating creatures! This is another fun photo brought to you by the critter cam at Rodman.

Nature shows us the way. We can learn so much by taking cues from the natural world and applying them in our own lives. Let's protect this unlimited source of wisdom and knowledge.

When visiting a Lake County Land Trust preserve, please remember to follow the example so kindly demonstrated by Boomer: do your civic doody pick up the and other trash. And always keep a leash on Thank you! Leashed dogs are welcome at Rabbit Hill and Boggs Lake, currently. More dog-friendly properties to come. For more info about these and other LCLT properties, visit the website in our bio. The Lake County Land Trust loves wild animals and domesticated ones, too!
