Here are some pictures of our new fish pens being placed on the new docks and transported to Hamilton Branch. Nick, owner of Almanor Anchor did a great job on both the docks and pens. Once we receive a clean bill of health on the ARI Browns we will move them into the new pens.

My name is Kaidyn Holland and this is my fourth year raising, showing, and selling a market animal. I am an upcoming Junior attending Indian Valley Academy in T...aylorsville, CA. I compete in monthly high school rodeos in District One of California High School Rodeo Association (CHSRA). Along with attending IVA in the fall, I will also be taking multiple classes at Feather River College to finish as many GED classes as possible. I plan on attending a four year university and majoring in Animal Science, and then attending a Veterinary School. I would like to become a large animal vet eventually, as I highly enjoy working with and around livestock and the lifestyle that comes with it. I have owned Très sense the end of March and will be showing and selling him at the 2020 Plumas-Sierra Junior Livestock Expo & Sale as ear tag #572. He is a crossbred barrow I purchased from Ottenwalter Show Pigs and he has been fed Moormans Show Tech Feed in specific protein and fat ratios to ensure he finishes out correctly. He has also been fed multiple supplements such as Moorfat and Depth Charge to improve his appearance. I have put my best effort in raising and I am hoping he tastes very good in someones freezer! The tradional Plumas-Sierra Country fair where our livestock is usually sold as a member of 4-H or FFA is not happening this year due to Covid. All of the exhibitors were offered an operutunity to show and sell our animals at the Sierraville Rodeo Grounds this August 15th and 16th. I will be showing my pig in senior showmanship and a market class on Saturday the 15th starting at 8am and will be selling him in the auction Sunday morning. There is a buyers breakfast Sunday morning from 7:30-8:45am and the Junior Lifestock Auction following at 9:00am. If you wish to buy an animal and cannot attend the auction there is a proxy bid form enclosed. A proxy bid allows you to put a max price you would be willing to purchase an animal for without being present. If you wish to support one of the exhiborrs wihout purchasing an animal, there is the option to add on to the orignal purchased price of an animal. I just received a message from our Supervisor Sherri Thrall and the USFS will be removing the barricades and reopening the boat ramps today. I am not sure who d...eserves the credit for this change of heart but I would like to plead that everyone using these facilities to be respectful and leave them the way you find them. My understanding is there will be a Plumas County Sherriff Deputy at the ramp monitoring activity. See more
