Santa Rosa fire had an unusual call this week because some fool was using their vehicle as a lab. Always expect the unexpected in this business.

An unusual call for service and most certainly a different kind of call. This worker was saved by the quick action of CHP and a passing big rig. Way to go to those helping to make the rescue happen.

Training tonight was class B foam use. With our local airport we need to have special equipment to handle flammable liquid fires. Tonight we trained on the use of AFFF foam for aircraft emergencies.

We would like to thank our auxiliary staff for putting on another very successful chili dog lunch for our community members. Our preliminary numbers are in (gross amount) and we collected in excess of $3,000.00. We still have our expenses to count in but so far we did very well. We would like to thank our community for the over whelming support. A few pictures of yesterday’s event.

We are hammering it out right now with hog dog sales and about to sell out again. Better hurry if you want lunch. 300 dogs about gone. Thank you to our wonderful auxiliary staff for their hard work. Thanks to our community members for your support.

This was posted by another person on a different page. We don’t normally post others information but we feel this is valid information and want our community members prepared. Hello LC neighbors. Wanted to alert everyone to another possibly major snow, rain and wind event that's scheduled to begin tomorrow evening and last through much of Wednesday. For several days I have monitoring the possibility for another "snowmaggedon" event that crippled LC in Feb. 2019, and just t...his morning the NWS has changed their forecast to expect heavy snow perhaps as far south as Red Bluff with a mix further south down most of the Valley. At this time, NWS is calling for 4-8" of snow down to 300' elevation at times overnight Tuesday, with another 1-3" on Wednesday....along with winds that could reach 30-40mph here. Folks, I'm not saying this is a certain thing, but the start of it is only 36hrs out so there is a high level of confidence in the forecast. Please use today to prepare for a possibility of major impacts from this storm. Power outages, travel problems, and communications issues are likely going to occur, along with a good chance I-5 is going to get shut down (or at least chains required) at some time during the event. Will post more emergency info as required. See more

We were asked what was going on today: Today was a multi agency drill with our nieghboring agencies. The participants were Lake California, Bowman, Cottonwood and Cal Fire. The multi agency drills are a very beneficial endeavor as it allows us to train with our neighboring partners as we learn from each other.

Looks like Hoopa Fire Department got a new Chief. Chief Moon started at Hoopa many moons ago and has traveled to several places over the years building his resume and gaining much needed experience. Now he has returned and has excepted the job of Fire Chief. Congratulations Chief Moon, a promotion and job assignment well deserved! We are happy for your return.

What first responders were up against In Nashville on Christmas morning, 2020. This was a horrible incident that unfortunately took place. To the best of our knowledge there were only minor injuries to the public. Our first responders are subject to all kinds of different and unique incidents. Sending positive thoughts to the first responders of Nashville.

Lake Cal Fire has been busy this month. Tonight we had two calls. First call was at 17:58 for a medical on Indian Creek. At 19:23 we were called for a structure fire on Sweet Brier Pl. These were two separate incidents. The structure fire displaced the occupants and the structure is temporarily uninhabitable. The fire was confined to the bedroom and contents of the bedroom. There were no injuries reported and the occupants are staying with local relatives.
