LAHSA Executive Director Heidi Marston recently testified at a State Assembly Select Committee Hearing on LA County Homelessness. She spoke about LA’s need for 499,000 affordable homes to meet current demand to address LA County’s #affordablehousing crisis.

Access to clean clothes can make make a huge difference in life - from getting a job to having a positive school experience. The Laundry Truck La sets out to build awareness for personal care services and bring free mobile laundry services to our unhoused neighbors and those in need around Los Angeles. https://www.thelaundrytruckla.com/

In order to increase the effectiveness of our rehousing system, we will need more than 500,000 additional housing units like the ones being created through #ProjectHomekey. Addressing #homelessness at the intersection of #mentalhealth ensures that people get the care they need and helps to break stereotypes. The staff and volunteers of Step Up on Second are incredibly dedicated to assisting people experiencing mental health issues and chronic homelessness with opportunities to recover with a sense of belonging and purpose.

Over the last three years, our rehousing system's programs and providers made nearly 62,000 permanent housing placements. However, if we are going to succeed at ending homelessness, our housing creation partners need to build over 500,000 units of #affordablehousing.

Outreach is a core service that LAHSA provides as the leader of LA County's rehousing system. Outreach connects our clients to critical services like interim housing. Last year, we engaged 38,865 people through outreach, a 300% increase since the implementation of Measure H.
