Brought in by a concerned client. This deceased bat was found by her cats INSIDE the house. While bats are an invaluable part of the ecosystem, they are a common carrier of rabies. This is why vaccination against rabies is important for ALL cats, not just the ones that go outside.

Searching for a home for these two old pals whose owner is too old to care for them anymore. It’s heartbreaking- the must stay together. Please share with hope! Contact Holly at www.secondchancelove.org

Easter and Mother's Day are around the corner. Make sure any flower arrangements in your home are free of Lillies. A small bit of pollen licked of fur can be fatal to cats.

Our girl, Chai The unfortunate face of DCM (dilated cardiomyopathy- heart disease) from eating Boutique Grain Free Dog Food. She looks great doesn’t she...th...at’s because DCM goes unnoticed until sometimes too late, it’s affecting the heart so while your dog may look great on the outside great (fur etc) they aren’t inside. I feel I need to keep speaking out about this on behalf of Chai. We don’t share our story and experience for pity, we don’t get paid from the big 4 dog food brands, we aren’t over reacting and we aren’t creating hysteria. We are sharing what happened to us so people can have an understanding, so people can see that it can happen to any dog - your dog isn’t superior over another. We share to create awareness so people can take the proper precautions so they don’t have to go through what we have and continue to go through, because we had no idea what this even was until our dog turned blue one day at the vet and here we are now with a 5 year old Australian Kelpie with DCM - this used to be unheard of unless genetic. I don’t think a lot of you understand what comes with this when your dog is diagnosed - not only our dogs health but our own mental health - you don’t see guilt we live with, the expensive daily medication, the vet bills, the unexpected vet bills, and it all comes with knowing you’ve done something (fallen into the marketing scam of grain free food) that has harmed your dog. The worst is the fear of coming home to her lying dead on the floor and not saying a proper goodbye or going to bed and waking up and not having her wake up with us. Over 300 cases and over 70 deaths have already been reported to the FDA up until November 2018, if that isn’t enough for you to take the proper precautions then I pray your pride doesn’t put you in this situation that many of us are in. Can you imagine if this was baby food...the uproar that would be caused - the recalls there would be. Please think twice about what you’re feeding your dogs. #advocate #doglife #dcm #dilatedcardiomyopathyawareness #iwishiknewthenwhatiknownow #savethedogs *Chai WAS eating Nutrience Sub Zero Canadian Pacific Grain Free Food FDA UPDATE JUNE 27 2019 https://www.fda.gov//fda-investigation-potential-link-betw
