Laguna Presbyterian Church 29.07.2020

It's Sunday, October 4, 2020. We are so glad you are joining us for the online worship service at Laguna Presbyterian Church, Laguna Beach, Ca. The first Sunday in October is designated as World Communion Sunday, which celebrates our oneness in Christ with all our brothers and sisters around the world. The message, The Purpose of the Vineyard is given by Rev. Dr. Gareth Icenogle as we continue our series in Matthew, "The Storyteller: Jesus' Way of Humility, Service & Sacri...fice." Our scripture is Matthew 21:33-46. Even though communion will look and feel different as we do this from our various worship spaces in our homes, each time we celebrate this sacrament, we are reminded that it is Jesus who invites us to come, and that it is the Lord’s Table. This morning we invite you to celebrate communion with us, wherever you are worshipping this morning. And, w invite you to: 1. Prepare the Table. Clear a space where you will celebrate the sacrament that gives you access to the device where you will stream the worship service. If you have a cross or another symbol of Christ’s love, you may choose to include that in your space or on your table. 2. Gather the bread, the juice / the cup/s. The bread and wine Jesus shared with the disciples were common, so choose a piece of bread (or cracker) that is common to your household and available to you, along with juice, wine, or water and a common cup or individual cups. 3. Engage in worship. During the worship service you will hear the liturgy for the Lord’s Supper: the Invitation, the Great Thanksgiving, the Breaking of the Bread and Pouring of the Cup. We will be invited to partake of the body of Christ and the cup of salvation, before we close in prayer. We have included the song, Let Us Break Bread Together along with a 45 sec. video. If your family needs longer to take communion, simply pause the service. We do not want you to rush. This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. May the Lord bless you.
