Today, on International Women's Day, we acknowledge and thank the women who have and who continue to serve as leaders in our Foundation, our Healthcare System, ...and our community as a whole. Our Board Chair, Carla Spencer, is just one example of this trifecta. Carla leads our Foundation Board, holds an executive leadership position within Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System, and is a strong voice and health advocate in the community, setting an incredible example for the next generation of female leaders. #InternationalWomensDay #CareForYourCommunity See more

We extend our sympathies to the family and friends of Clem Albertoni, who passed away last week after a long and full life. Clem was a friend of the foundation,... and in this photo, he is reading a poem that he wrote in memory of Bill Whitney, which hangs in the Whitney Waiting Room. The last time we spoke with Clem, we called to check-in at the beginning of the pandemic, and in true "Clem" style, he shared that he got to wear a bandana as a face mask and that made him feel like "an outlaw in the wild west." Las Estrellas Del Valle Announcement Event Cancelled To our valued riders, wranglers, committee members, volunteers and vendors: After careful consideration, we have decided to err on the side of safety and cancel the 2021 LEDV ride schedule for April 23-25, 2021. This is a very difficult decision, as after a rich thirty-year history, this was to be the final ride and certainly, quite a party. ... There is a Limited Stay Home Order put in place on November 21, 2020 that states that in counties in the widespread (purple) tier, Californians must stay home between 10:00pm and 5:00am. Non-essential businesses are required to close between the same hours. This Order also restricts gatherings of more than 3 households. Limiting mixing and movement of individuals from different households is critical in order to stop the transmission of the virus. All activities are higher-risk now in California based on the level of community spread we are currently seeing. By staying home, we are limiting exposure and interrupting the chain of transmission. Event Registration: If you are currently registered for the event, we will begin refunding fees collected. All refunds will be via check. If you would like your commemorative gifts sent to you please email [email protected] confirming you would like this option and your address. Your registration fees will be refunded minus $50 for the cost of the gift and postage. Event Prizes and Buckles: We will begin a process to auction off the prizes and buckles. We will email you with information. Event Store: We intend to setup a store to sell the LEDV store items. We will keep you posted via email. If you have additional questions, please contact the SVMH Foundation Office at (831) 759-1880 and we will be happy to assist you. Thank you for understanding. We are so thankful for all of the great memories and relationships built over the years, the generous way that every participant cared for their community and the incredible ranch owners and vendors that made this event possible. The event may be gone, but the cause it has supported for so many years, our population’s health, is still very much a community need. We will continue to dream and build, and humbly ask for your continued confidence and support as we evolve into new fundraising activities. Thank you for everything. Always. Be well, Jeff Wardwell Chief Philanthropy Officer

Here's a great way to get your kids (or yourself) involved in giving back during the pandemic. If they're playing games already, why not turn that into a fundraiser and help them to #GameForGood?!

On this national Day of Service, we remember Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and celebrate his life and legacy. His impact continues today as millions commit to serve in their own communities in his memory. #NationalDayOfService #CareForYourCommunity

We share in the sadness expressed by so many others over the loss of Jeff Taylor, a longtime friend and supporter of the SVMH Foundation. Jeff was a participant... in our men’s trail ride event and served as its chair in its final year in 2017. We send our most sincere condolences to the entire Taylor family. See more
