My heart is so heavy....as I watched Jace parents, his family, friends and our community mourn the lost of his life. I could only cry....my thoughts went to my 6 year old son....Jace is Pierce....always happy, loves learning, loves helping his family. That being DIFFERENT quality Jace father spoke of I see in my son and to know we’ll never get to see what Jace would become....how many lives he would change.....the legacy he would have left....it’s devastating. We as a commun...ity, a people, an individuals need to STAND UP....Losing Jace, a bright, intelligent, happy and loving child at the age of 6 is pass unacceptable and it enrages me. My son is currently spending summer vacation at his grandma’s house which lives in San Francisco on Osceola Lane....just a block up from where Jace was shot....my mother heard the shots. Yesterday Pierce seen Jace’s picture at a local pizza parlor.....and when I spoke to him this morning this was our conversation.... Pierce: Mom I’m sad that boy got shot. Me: How do you know? Pierce: I seen his picture Me: Yes it’s very sad Pierce: He looks like me mom He smile like me He’s like me Mom I’m sad he got shot Me: I know son (now crying) Me: He loves reading like you Pierce: We could have been friends We do the same things I was speechless, I didn’t know what to say. We were on FaceTime and I was crying but he couldn’t tell. I told him to make a video about how he’s feeling and we’ll talk about it tomorrow when I see him. I started Ladies In Power to positivity impact my community and I’m now more than ever committed to doing what’s need to see the change we all deserve. We love to see it! We need more educators like this!
Everyone please continue to stay healthy and safe. As we all continue to learn how to deal with our new reality. #fightlikeagirl #ladiesinpower#sanfrancisco #oakland #protectyourself
What a tearjerker sending love and light to both of these beauties.
Value the time you have on earth with the people you love....doing the things you love
Motivation Monday! Sometimes life takes us down a path that we never imagined going. But the amazing thing is there’s always another path awaiting us around the corner. #motivationalmonday #motivation #newbeginnings #newpaths #bedriventochange #selflove #ladiesinpower #lip #sanfrancisco #sandiego #nonprofitorganization
