Another substantial Edward Snowden leak reveals just how far the CIA, NSA and GCHQ went to obtain iOS hacking capabilities. History teaches us that if they've done it, other hackers have as well. iOS is nowhere near as safe as Apple might lead users to believe.... http://bit.ly/1C60nyQ

Google have just announced several new APIs that developers can start getting their hands on. Among the new options is an addition to the list of "Trusted" methods to bypass device security: Voice. Although not yet possible, this has endless potential to become both very convenient and a massive security hazard. The more things we lock and secure with our voices, the more reason threat actors will have to record us. What do you think?... http://bit.ly/1G1zREc http://bit.ly/1G1zREc

Researchers have published findings that show significant security holes in Venmo's mobile payment app. Amongst other things, Venmo fails to implement two-factor authentication or sendi users a notification when their password is changed. Venmo is owned by the payment giant PayPal and is still quite small - with "only" about 1.5 million users. It must be said that they are growing fast. ... Our first question would be if perhaps people are jumping into mobile payment systems too quickly. Venmo's problems might change that. What do you think? http://bit.ly/1B78NSY

Researchers discover new data-stealing malware disguised as a legitimate-looking back-up application on Google Play. The headline really says it all. Not only has malware managed to find it's way onto the official Google Play store - it's disguised itself as a security app that ensures your data is safe and sound. This is a massive reminder of why the behaviour of every app needs to be scrutinised.... http://bit.ly/1CgQUnH

See what FierceMobileIT have to say on our joint mobile security report with Check Point. "..If your enterprise has at least 2,000 mobile devices on your network, there is a 50 percent chance that at least six of those devices are infected with malware that can spy on your network. That is the conclusion of a new report by security firms Lacoon and Check Point. The report found that spy malware, also known as a mobile remote access Trojan (mRAT), is running rampant in corpor...ate America. .." http://bit.ly/1zO4jxH
