The City of Los Altos' Community and Emergency Preparedness Grants Program is now open for applications! The program offers funding to encourage neighborhoods to improve their emergency preparedness. This year, applicants sign up for a predefined package: CPR/AED training for the neighborhood, handheld radios, Stop-the-Bleed training and kits, or earthquake emergency medicine kits. To be eligible for these packages, you must be a Los Altos resident in a Block Action Team or Neighborhood Watch Group (or, be registering one). Apply now, and recruit your friends to apply! LACF is deeply saddened by the surge of violent attacks, harassment, and hate crimes against Asian Americans since the start of the pandemic - both in our local community and throughout the nation. In fact, since COVID-19, Anti-Asian hate crimes have increased by 1900% in the U.S. We stand in support of the Asian community and we urge everyone to #StopAsianHate.
