No words. Lots of photos. Actually for most of this year I have in fact had so many words, so many thoughts, so many questions, and in moments, so many opinions... and also, I’ve posted barely any photos. Whenever I went to share, these thoughts rarely seemed to be able to take life in writing. I’d contemplate how to convey my heart alongside the reality of the times and make that go along with the image I was looking at. I’d type, I’d judge my word choice, I’d delete, then I...’d feel tired, then overwhelmed then I’d ask what I could possibly say that was useful enough to be read? Then I’d decide I was better off to just leave all that white space empty with a photo that had no copy below it and therefore a post that wasn’t ready to be posted. Even when I was feeling busy with photography, like this Fall, I couldn’t think of anything meaningful enough to put alongside the image I was wanting to post. What could I possibly say or not say that would balance the feelings in the image with the reality of 2020. So because I couldn’t find this balance I usually wouldn’t post. This year has shown me some of the highest highs and the lowest lows, full of so many confusing and complex obstacles for us all. But despite this years events, I knew I always felt good when I was taking photos of people, even if I couldn’t find the right captions for the images I was creating. All year, I haven’t known how to share that I’ve felt an imbalance. So here I go, I’ve felt an imbalance. Haven’t we all?! I still don’t really know how to talk about everything heavy that’s happened in 2020 alongside the joys, one of them being the joy I feel when I look at my clients in my photos... so maybe I don’t have to. And perhaps that’s what I love about photography. Sometimes the photo IS enough. Thanks to my friend Ines and Misty for helping me find some words.

I finished my last mini session this past weekend!!! Thank you to all the families who joined me, it's been a busy season and I am very thankful. I am still doing my regular family portraits and offer them as 30 minute or hour-long sessions.
