Whether we recognize it or not, the biases of the world have an impact on nearly everything we do. Particular social issues easily trigger those strong biases we possess, especially when comes to daily economic needs and issues of injustice. It was true in New Testament church in Acts 6, and it remains true in the church today. The good news is, God's word can overcome a worldly bias!

Peter & John were proclaiming to the people & the priests, the power of God. Then the captain of the temple guard and the Sadducees came up to them wanting to know how men such as these could speak with great authority? Especially since they had not conferred this authority upon them. The issue that day was, Where did Peter & John rank with them? But the better question would have been to the officials that day, Where did they rank with Jesus!

The women came to the tomb on the first day of the week, at early dawn, with the spices they prepared to properly bury Jesus. But when they arrived at the tomb, they found the stone rolled away, but when they entered the tomb, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. One of the angels who were present that day asked the women a profound question, he said, Why are you seeking the living among the dead? And that is still the question today! Except we want to admonish that you, Don’t Look for Jesus among the dead! Luke 24:1-12
