The entire team at Labor Community Services joins our country in mourning the passing of another great icon in the fight for justice and for the rights of all - Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Supreme Court Justice Ginsburg leaves a legacy of service that has been a model for us all who share in her belief that our country needs to be inclusive of all, with a vision of hope and prosperity for all. We will honor her work, her sacrifices and her memory with the work we do, day in and day out, helping our working families who need a sense of hope to see brighter days ahead. Our food distributions events began when we saw a need to help our brothers and sisters in Labor and our families in our communities get through the #Covid19 Pandemic. Yesterday in #Wilmington, we hosted our 50th food distribution event, and how appropriate that it was on Labor Day. Through our collaborate efforts with amazing partners, our caring volunteers and dedicated staff, we were able to help support over 2,200 families! This couldn't have happened without the love an...d support of the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO, the Los Angeles / Long Beach Harbor Labor Coalition, South County Labor, the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, the Miguel Contreras Foundation and so many labor unions and community partners that were committed to making a day in which we celebrate our country's workforce into a day when we all come together to give back! This is what happens when we put the needs of our families first and take action! It is our hope that everybody had a #HappyLaborDay! #Covid19Relief #WereAllInThisTogether See more
