We are so sad to learn of the passing of Bonnie Swankone of the brightest lights of the local organic farming community. Here's what we published in our weekly... newsletter: Last week the tri-county’s restaurant community lost an icon and relentless supporter when Bonnie Swank died suddenly due to undiagnosed cancer. Along with her husband Dick, she ran Swank Farms, which many of the area’s top restaurants depended on for organic produce. As hard as she worked to support the community, she was equally adept at having fun, most famously demonstrated by the goofy TV commercials she filmed for the farm’s annual corn maze spectacular. The playful spark in her eye was simply impossible to miss. ALL IN Monterey will be open on Thursday 8/20 and Friday 8/21 from 10a to 6p. We are located at Seaside High School (directions are included in the pictures). ... Fire Victims and Evacuees we have clothing, food and toiletries available for pick up. We will have two boxes for you to choose from: Box 1: Hotel friendly box with microwave foods and non perishable items. Box 2: Groceries containing perishable items such as cereal, milk and fruits. Volunteers and Donations needed (see details below)- Volunteers: We welcome volunteers to help us distribute food, assist families with clothing and collecting toiletries as needed. Hours are from 9:45a to 6:15p, you choose how long you can help, just comment below and let us know you are joining us and approximate time. Donations: Groceries- Sliced bread, peanut butter and jelly, Mac n Cheese (boxes & microwave friendly), individual bags of chips and fruit snacks, granola bars, Cup of noodles, Ramen, Water, Gatorade, juice boxes, shelf stable milk, apples, oranges and bananas. Paper plates and bowls, plastic cutlery, paper towels and wet wipes. Toiletries- Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant New (unused) items- Women underwear all sizes Men underwear all sizes Children's underwear all sizes Socks all sizes Gently used and washed clothing sorted by size: sweats, t-shirts, pajamas and shoes. Kids corner- Crayons, coloring books and small toys All donations can be dropped off at Seaside High School between 10 am - 6 pm Thursday 8/20 and Friday 8/21. ALL IN Monterey is working with the local Red Cross and the Monterey County Community Resilience Program. ALL IN is also accepting monetary donations (paid through Venmo, zelle or paypal) and grocery gift cards.
