How do th...ey expect student or parents (who are ready to retire) to pay that $700 plus payment a month? Good luck trying to consolidate, initially tried to put the private loan under my daughter, didn't work. Then we tried, first we were told we didn't qualify cause we had too much student loan debt then we tried to file as hardship. This time we were told we can afford the $850 a month payment plus the federal $333 payment. Wells Fargo wouldn't budge and after researching find out most parents that tried had similar stories. Ended up refinancing entire private loans through Discover, and the amazing part, all under my daughter without a co-signer. Moral of the story no relief, no help for students or parents. See more
