Apple season is in full swing and Kurli Willow Farm has some good news, not so good news and some more good news for our friends and customers. The good news is that all of the adopted trees have been picked. We have been busy dehydrating apples slices and soon they will be ready for sale. This past rainy season has led to an astonishing amount of apples on our trees. In good rainy years many flora and fauna thrive and flourish in such conditions. Which, brings us to our not ...so good news. It has also been a vigorous year for the Codling Moth. About 80% of our remaining crop have tiny holes bored from these moths. Being that we grow these apples organically it has been an arduous task trying to curtail these pests. Therefore, The remaining crop is simply not up to our standards and we will not be offering our apples for sale. However, (good news) we will be offering them for FREE. Please message or contact me and you can come and pick and we can help. It will take a little bit of cutting and carving away of the bad parts, but the rest of the apple is still the same delicious apple. So thankful to pick and eat the very last plum of the season tonight. Oh sweet summer you were so good to us!! Plums, berries, apricots may be done but, we’re just around the corner from all the delicious appleness!! Taking apple tree adoption reservations for the season now. Message me to inquire or come and pick your tree for the season. Prices vary per tree. Also, taking orders for dehydrated apples. Will post when apples are ripe and ready for the picking in a few short weeks. Also, will update on farmers markets and deliveries. Enjoy all that the season changes brings!!
