The City of Montebello is conducting a public survey about parks and recreation. Members of the public are invited to complete the online survey. Results from the survey will be used to assess how Montebello facilities and programs meet the needs of the community and how the City can continue to accommodate future needs. On September 10, 2020, San Diego State University ENS 700 Field was awarded Project of the Years by APWA San Diego in the Parks $2-$5M category. The field includes new turf technology, modern LED sports lighting, and an enhanced surrounding landscaping that transform the edges of the field to create a park setting. The curvilinear terrace walls, along with the meandering decomposed granite path around the perimeter of the field, help soften the edges. Stepped terraces for seating are on the south side of the field in lieu of retaining walls to address the grade difference. #sdsu #FPBA #O’Connor Construction Management, Inc. #Michael Wall Engineering #ktuaplanner

The Atascadero City Council voted unanimously to approve the conceptual plans for the El Camino Real Downtown Infrastructure Enhancement Plan. Not only will the improvements reportedly make it safer downtown, but it will also increase the ability to support businesses and restaurants and provide more opportunities to hold events that could bring in tourism dollars. It will also enhance the look of our downtown, Atascadero Community Development Director Phil Dunsmore said. ...Increasing the commerce and retail and restaurant opportunities and connecting both sides of El Camino. As we see La Plaza develop, and we have a new beer garden coming along, Colony Market and Deli, as well as all the businesses north of Traffic [way] and others south, we have to be able to commute back and forth across this road without it being a significant barrier. That connection is critical to success. KTUA is proud of great job everyone did to make this project a success! https://atascaderonews.com//conceptual-plans-for-el-camin/ See more

Interactive map collects public input on trail project connecting Buellton and Solvang. Since an in-person public workshop to culminate a year-long public process was canceled due to the COVID-19 public health emergency, an interactive story map website was developed to graphically organize information and provide an opportunity for the public to creatively engage with all aspects of the Santa Ynez Trail Alignment study. #ktuaplanner https://keyt.com//interactive-map-collects-public-input-o/
