#KIPPsterSpotlight Joshua is a KIPP Raices and KIPP Sol alumni who will be graduating from STEM Academy of Boyle Heights in a few weeks. Throughout high school, Joshua has been involved in many clubs such as LA Mayor's youth council and robotics. Joshua has given back to his community by mentoring elementary students in East LA by introducing them to engineering through legos, and helped them enter competitions in First League Legos. Joshua has been recognized by Cacique ...Cheese Company for his interpretation of Dia De Los Muertos. Joshua is an impressive student that he was awarded to be a Questbridge Scholar, and finalist in this extremely competitive cycle. Joshua was a finalist of KTC's Peer-Review Duke program, and will be attending Duke University where he will be studying Politics and Econ with a full financial aid coverage. Book Giveaway Our #BlackHistoryMonth book giveaway continues! This week’s book is Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You by Jason Reynolds & Ibram X. Kendi. This book shines a light in the many insidious forms of racist ideas in America and on ways readers can identify and stamp out racist thoughts in their daily lives. To enter the giveaway, simply comment below! Giveaway will run from now until Tuesday, March 2nd 2021 at 2PM. Winner will be chosen at random and announced via IG Story + direct message. #KIPPsterSpotlight Daniela is a KIPP Sol Alumni that attends La Salle High School. She ran on the Cross Country team and track team. Daniela is on the leadership team for the Support Our Troops club, which engages students in volunteer work for the military and is also apart of the Mental Health Awareness club. Daniela is interested in applying to Johns Hopkins, UCLA, University of Oregon and more! We’re so excited to see all the great things that Daniela will accomplish!
