Here is a wonderful resource by thebraincoach to help you and your loved ones strengthen the ability to internally validate oneself. Why is this important? Internal validation is healthy and important due to it allows for self-acceptance and self-compassion to develop and grow. Showing oneself self-acceptance and self-compassion of one’s emotions, thoughts, and insecurities is often difficult to do as a result of self-criticism. However, by practicing internal validation, you... become more accepting, loving, and more empowered in controlling your thoughts and emotions. Often times we look to external validation (relying on others/society's actions, words, emotions, and behaviors) to reassure us in our actions and choices. When we resort to this, external reassurance is never reassuring enough. As a result, we come to rely more and more on external validation, when the key is to internally validate yourself. You will feel more grounded, loved and accepted as a result of internal validation. #selfcompassion #selfacceptance #mindfulness #change #growth #mentalhealth #mentalhealthmatters #MentalHealthAwareness #mentalillness #mentalhealthsupport #california #support #therapy #validation #selflove #losangeles #beverlyhills
