Hello Families! Happy Halloween! Did you know that the average American child will consume about three cups of sugar during the Halloween season? That is almost 16 times the maximum daily recommendation of 25 grams! That is A LOT of sugar and treats! At Kensington Pediatric Dentistry, we believe in having fun at Halloween while also being as tooth-friendly as can be! We encourage families to enjoy trick or treating, but we also recommend that parents limit candy consumption... to only a little bit at a time. Moderation is key when it comes to treats. Please remember to drink fluoridated water after enjoying all those treats, followed by brushing and flossing. Remember to stay away from gummy candies You can donate excess candy to our office for our Halloween Candy buy-back program where we send the candy to Treats for Troops. If you are interested in giving away treats that are more tooth-friendly, we highly suggest sugar free gums, bubbles, glow sticks, vampire teeth, and stickers.

Happy New Year! Did you know that children typically lose their lower front teeth first, around ages 5-7 years old! Be ready for a visit from the Tooth Fairy and make sure to keep their teeth healthy by brushing twice a day and flossing once a day. They will continue to loose their baby teeth until around the age of 12. Make sure they stay regular with their dental check-ups every six months.

Our sister office was nominated as one of the best Dental Offices in San Diego (not just pediatric dental - but all dental!). Please help support them - we would really appreciate it.

We had an amazing day marching in the Kensington Memorial Day Parade. Thank you to our team, and of course a special thanks to the troops and their families who sacrifice so much to maintain our freedoms and keep us safe.

Dr. Stephanie and her boys took a few hours out of her Mother's Day last weekend to deliver food and water to the homeless - giving those who didn't get to spend the day with their own mothers a little extra love...

Are your kids anxious about their dental visit? Have them bring their favorite toy or stuffed animal to help make the experience a little easier! We can count their favorite stuffed animal's teeth first and show them how easy it is. Sometimes, something familiar from home helps to make a new situation a little easier. We want to build a happy and strong relationship with your child to help instill good habits for oral health that will last a lifetime!
