The US Women’s National Soccer Team did not just display their talent in sport by winning the World Cup - they demonstrated how to effectuate change - to unabashedly demand it, using all tools available to us. Those tools include Equal Pay and anti-discrimination laws forming the basis to make the claims that force the change we need. These women are leading the way, showing what can happen when you assert your rights in the employment context. Many thanks to the USWNT

I am so happy to report that today, the jury vindicated our whistleblower client, a former City Investigator, who was terminated after complaining that egregious acts of police misconduct were being swept under the rug. This monumental win could not have been achieved but for the collective blood, sweat and tears of our team, consisting of CELA colleagues Dustin Collier, Josh Socks, who took a chance and came into the case last minute to try it with Ashleigh Stone and I. As you can imagine, this case was very contentious, and bigger than just our client. The verdict sends a larger message to our community that this injustice can go on no longer. All the sacrifices that were made by the client and his advocates alike in this fight have been worth the reward, because justice has finally been served!
