Embryo transfer season is well underway. This Grade 1, 7-day embryo was shipped down to SoCal and is now confirmed as a pregnancy in a recipient mare there. The flush was done on a farm here in NorCal. Let us know if you are interested in this service on your farm!

We performed a transvaginal oocyte aspiration (TVA) on Friday and got 6 oocytes (eggs; pictured here) from the ovary of a beautiful mare. We shipped them to EquiEmbryo in Texas where intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI, which is the only form of IVF that works in horses) was performed on 4 of the oocytes today. Now it is a waiting game, but in a week or so we should know if any embryos form. Fingers crossed!
