UCSF town hall today on education and remote learning. Scroll down for the link-- On August 7, Chancellor Sam Hawgood and campus education leaders will discuss teaching and learning in the age of the COVID-19 pandemic as well as other important issues of the day. Elizabeth Watkins, vice chancellor of Student Academic Affairs and dean of the Graduate Division, will be joined by education leaders from across UCSF. They will discuss how they are redesigning coursework for remote... learning and adopting new instructional, assessment and community building methods that enable learners to advance toward timely graduation while upholding UCSF’s high academic standards. They will also discuss new strategies they have adopted since the start of the pandemic to help protect the UCSF community and slow the spread of COVID-19. News from Kiwi- Research shows that adverse childhood events (ACE’s) can impact health in adulthood, including such unlikely chronic conditions as High Blood Pressure, Heart Disease, and Stroke. We are beginning to work with a California statewide program called ACES Aware to screen families with a questionnaire. This will allow us to begin the conversation with our families and with the goal of addressing and reducing the effects of stress on children....
