Russian River legend, Gino Franceschi with a limit of steelhead caught 1/14/2021!!! He was amid a group of boats working the same water that caught nothing! Way to go Gino and congrats!! 79 years young getting it done!!

Mouth is a little buttoned up due to high swells. Water agency is supposed to open today Tuesday. Some fish were caught over the weekend so if the mouth gets opened we should have some new ones to catch before the river goes under 300 cfs.

Watch out for floy tagged coho that are in the river. These are broodstock fish that normally get put into the creeks but due to conditions they had to be dumped into the Russian. Please carefully play these fish and don't remove from the water or drag onto the beach. They are ripe for spawning and will spit their milt or eggs if removed from the water.
