Have you learned anything today Here’s a sneak peek of @piercefjonathan leading today’s in-house learning going over medicine ball circuits from his T&F days. Part of the Tank circuit, this exercise is called Prone OHB. It’s a great way to utilize the extensor chain (cervical, thoracic, and hip) while emphasizing a deceptively challenging shoulder position. Go for time or go for reps (2x30s, 2x15, or until failure) and feel the burn! ... #extensorchain #exercises #personaltraining #sdpersonaltrainer #groupexercise #injury #recovery #injuryrecocery #medballworkout #medball #medballthrows See more

Sports Massage is a type of manual therapy which incorporates different massage techniques to address sports related aches, pains, injuries and aid recovery. Our Sports Massage will consist of an assessment of any current or previous injury issues, assessment of any potential muscular imbalances in your body and a review of how you move both normally and during your sport, all in order to create a specific treatment for you and your body. The main purposes wil...l be to tap in to the physiological and neurological mechanisms within your body to create relaxation, stimulation and enhance your body's natural ability to heal. A Sports Massage treatment will typically involve a combination of light and deeper strokes, as well as pin point pressure to create these changes. Techniques may or may not involve the use of oils and lotions, and do not always require you to remove clothing. Although it is called Sports Massage, this type of treatment is not only suitable for high level athletes - anyone who presents with muscular or joint tightness, reduced range of motion, aches and pain, or specific injuries from any source, will benefit from one of these sessions. What is Corrective Exercise Is it different from rehabilitation Corrective exercise is a strategy that health and fitness professionals integrate into a training program to address and fix movement compensations and imbalances. ... The professional will assess an individual, identify the problem, analyze the results and implement a solution. There is a difference between rehabilitation and corrective exerciseOne implies that the goal of the exercise is to rid the body of pain; the latter is designed to optimize movement and enhance performance. Corrective exercises DO NOT address pain, pathology, structural abnormalities, or neurophysiological issues. Both corrective and rehabilitation exercises should be intelligently programmed to suit the individual’s needs (i.e. return to sport, restore range of motion, resume activities of daily living, etc.). It can serve as a warm up or an hour long session. It all depends on the needs of the client. See more

Have you heard about our low-level laser? It can help with sprains, strains, rotator cuff injuries, cervical/spinal pain, knee pain (ACL/MCL/meniscal) and many other injuries. It uses a process called photobiomodulation (try saying that 5x fast, or PBM for short) to target an enzyme called Cytochrome c oxidase, which in turn leads to increases in: ... mitochondrial function, oxygen consumption and ATP. It also increases leukocyte activity, vasodilation, and cellular regeneration Soo... What does all this mean? In layman’s terms, the laser accelerated the healing process by reducing inflammation, pain, and bringing in good cells to clean up the bad Interested in trying out the laser? Do you know what myofascia is It is a layer of connective tissue that covers each muscle like shrink wrap. Healthy fascia glides independently, but with the muscle similar to how compression clothing works. When you become dehydrated, the fascia drys up, tightens, and sticks to the surface of the muscle like siran wrap over leftovers. This causes increased fascial tension all across your body whichs limits range of motion and can detrimentally affect your posture. ... A big component of A.R.T is releasing this fascial tension throughout your body using manual therapy, to allow your joints to articulate and move with ease. #myofascialrelease #activerelease #manualtherapy #injury #injuryrecovery #injuryprevention #injuryrehab #stretch #stretching See more

Massage comes in a variety of forms, all with similar traits and applications. Massage is primiarly used to promote relaxation, reducing stress, relieving tension within the muscles, aiding in recovery from injury or from training, promote a feeling of wellbeing and increasing fleixilibty and range of motion of a joint. The types of massage we offer at Kinetik are: Swedish Massage (generally long, slower strokes to promote blood flow and relaxation); ... Deep Tissue Massage (incorporates a combination of lighter and deeper strokes to reach deeper soft tissue structures); Sports Massage (relating specifically to the preparation for performance, aiding in recovery from training or competition, or targeting structures relating to a specific injury or pain); Cupping (relieving tension of the soft tissue including fascia via lifting the skin through the use of cups); Myofascial Scraping (reducing the tension and increasing the elasticity within the soft tissue and fascia via a scraping tool and movement). Your sessions will be tailored to you and your comfort level, and although some techniques require some deeper pressure, you will never be put in excessive pain or stress, as this will be counter-productive in your treatment! Some techniques will require the use of a lubricating oil or lotion, and performed by certified and exerperienced therapists. The Half Kneeling Cable Lift Searching for a way to develop core stability in a dynamic fashionKarelle Edwards @karelleedwards demos this cable lift flawlessly. With the inside knee down and the outside knee up , she ensures that her feet, hip, and knees are in a straight line. She breaks down the movement by first pulling the rope to her chest and then reaches over the shoulder without breaking form. The exhale after reaching is a bonus and should only be used if... the athlete can maintain stability throughout the entire chain. You can program this with a foundational lift and use it as a buffer (a part of your rest break) or leave it as a stand-alone; 3x10 should do the trick! #performance #sportsperformance #sportsperformancetraining #sportsperformancecoach #halfkneelingcablelift #core #stability #stabilitytraining #stabilityballworkouts #runner #runnerslife #fit #strong #powerexercise See more
