Project Blue Light Officer Lucas Chellew Today we are honoring California Highway Patrolman, Lucas Chellew, who died in the line of duty on Wednesday, Februar...y 22nd, 2017. Motor Officer Lucas Chellew, was killed in an on-duty motorcycle crash, near the intersection of Stockton Boulevard and Fruitridge Road, in Sacramento, while pursuing another motorcycle. During the pursuit, Officer Chellew's motorcycle crashed. The motorcyclist he was pursuing fled the scene, but was arrested the following week. He was charged with evading an officer, leading to Chellew’s death, and grand larceny, for stealing the motorcycle he was driving. Officer Lucas Chellew was a U.S. Army Veteran. Chellew served the California Highway Patrol for eight years and was assigned to the South Sacramento Area Office. He is survived by his wife, daughter, son, parents, and sister. His father was a retired CHP officer and his sister also serves with the agency.

Training is NOT about clean runs, the fastest runs, looking good and feeling good. F*CK your feelings and ego. Work to failure. Get better. If you have a malfunction, don’t stop and redo the string for a clean run. Who gives a $hit about clean runs and looking cool...WORK TO CORRECT AND OVERCOME THE MALFUNCTION. A real defensive/potentially lethal encounter will offer no timeout nor quarter....you fix the problem and get your gun back in the fight or you don’t. Period.
