Trying to build up and lengthen your lats but don’t have access to a pull up bar? Give these exercises a go! You can use a curb, pool ledge, edge of a deck, anything you wish.... Goal: Control your lats by pulling your elbows constantly towards your toes as if you were hanging from the side of a building. This will allow full access to your core and any corresponding defaults within your body that need proper guidance. How many you say?!?! 5 sets: As many as you can perform efficiently until failure. Follow it up with 15 minutes freestyle jump rope and 300 crunches of your least favorite (most difficult) core exercises... Have a day y’all... GO GET IT!!! ***ISO squat shoulder extension*** GOAL: Maximize glute activation, strengthen the core and hamstrings, while deloading and lengthening the quads/hip flexors. It’s common for people to rep out as many squats and lunges as possible to get the legs they desire, but they never seem to get there.... Simple rule to follow: If you don’t feel the muscle you are trying to work/grow, make the adjustment so you can feel the focused area. It’s as simple as telling someone to drink enough water in the day, but do we? Taking control of your body and practicing isometrics will create lean muscle mass, build endurance, and alleviate chronic pain all at once. From: Michael M. Title: Attorney at Law I first started training with Mario at Kinetic Playground because I wanted to strengthen my body to prepare for a surgical procedure to my hip. Prior to surgery, Mario focused on getting me into shape with an eye toward speeding my recovery. ... After the surgery, I skipped physical therapy and went to Mario instead. Again, he focused the training on those parts of my body that needed to mend as well as those areas that had been overcompensating for the weak parts of my body. He consistently pushes me to achieve balance so that my entire body will work together instead of at cross-purposes. That, I have learned, is a full time endeavor. When COVID hit, he brought the training sessions into my living room, which has helped keep me sane and fit. His positive attitude and straightforward explanations of why the body behaves and reacts as it does are both instructive and motivational. The sole purpose of this exercise is to discover where the body needs assistance. What does that mean? Stepping in to today’s workout I had tremendous pain shooting up and down my spine (especially on the left side from skull to low back) and noticed that my right hip was shut off (inactive even when focusing on using that side). ... So, I created an exercise that can target everything I needed in one fell swoop. Practicing the KP methods of complete connectivity, moving with efficient, purposeful movements, the body can adapt and overcome when it’s ready to. There is no guessing or forcing strength.... All you have to do is fight for perfection and comprehend signals! What’s tight? What’s not responding? What muscles are fatiguing the fastest? Where does your body want to fail during a certain movement? What do I need to engage more to make this fluent? From here it’s easy!
