I can’t believe this sweet baby boy (who also happens to be my nephew) will be 1 year old in just a few days. How many of you have had babies born during the holidays? Did you (or do you) do holiday themed pictures/parties to celebrate?

I took the opportunity to do pictures of my own girls the other day. I bought them a these You are the Magic pullovers from @thewishingelephant because the phrase really struck a chord with me. Right now things are turned upside down, and though we might be missing out on some of our favorite holiday traditions, there can be magic wherever we are, wherever we are together as a family. We can create our own magic and make new traditions.

I know it’s still fall, but everyone is rushing to set up their Christmas tree, and I’m down with that, but my husband is NOT. So I want to know- Do you plan on decorating early this year or waiting until you usually would?

I don’t photograph many weddings, but these two lovebirds convinced me to do theirs, and I am so incredibly excited!

Hello fall! Who else loves fall as much as I do? It’s just the best- the colors, the smells, the activities.... All of my favorite things!

Movement in photos is magic. My favorite snaps are almost always the candid ones when I have my subject(s) move. What are your favorite photos? Posed or candid?

@photosinthenest is the dreamiest location for photos. If you’d prefer indoor portraits to outdoor, this location is the perfect option! I did some holiday family minis here last year- should I offer them again this year?

Which do you prefer? Color or black and white? Normally I prefer color, but sometimes black and white enhances the picture and helps you focus on the moment, like these sweet newborn snuggles!

What are you up to this weekend? We’re in the middle of a heat wave, and it’s supposed to be 110 today, so I’m definitely wishing we were back at my parents house in Utah playing in this darling playhouse my mom made over for her grandkids.
