At the Kiloby Center, we define true recovery as being the state in which someone is not preoccupied at all, either with using or not using, having control or not having control, being an addict or being a recovering addict, with the belief that one is addicted or the belief that one is recovering from addiction. True recovery is when preoccupation in the mind around addiction and recovery has left entirely or is at least very quiet.

Addiction is not about the substance or activity to which one is addicted. People who are addicted are really seeking a connection with something or someone in order to fill up a perceived hole within them. We call this hole the deficiency story, which is a belief in being fundamentally flawed. At the Kiloby Center, our whole focus is on unconditionally loving clients exactly as they are. No more judging, punishing, or shaming. We place no pressure on the client. Therefore the client gets to decide what they want. If they make the decision that recovery is what they want, their chance of success is much, much higher than if they were being pressured into recovery.

The Kiloby Inquiries Personal Mentorship Program will focus on teaching you all of the Kiloby Inquiry tools that have been developed. The developers, Scott Kiloby and Dan McClintock will be conducting the Training Program with assistance from 4 Certified KI Facilitators acting as Training Assistants. The Program is limited to 16 Participants and will be conducted in Large Group and then will break up into small Groups of 4 Participants (each with one Training Assistant) whi...ch will ensure that each Participant receives the personalized attention that is so important when learning these tools. The Small Group experience will ensure that everyone has a chance to use the tools and experience them completely before moving on to the Optional Certified Facilitator Training Program where you will learn how to use the tools with others if you choose to take that portion of the Program. After a practice period and evaluation session, you will receive a Certified Facilitator Certification which will allow you to use the tools with others.
