Thanks to all my client friends congratulating me on our newest grandbaby, Troy. I love catching up on clients I helped when their moms were pregnant with them and seeing them now at 20, 15, 12! Thank you for allowing me to be a small, but important part of part of your lives! For my SoCal friends and clients, I should be there in August sometime ( I will post here). I hope to see some new clients referred to me by you. In the meantime, I’m getting my baby fix!

I'm traveling this summer and hanging out with grandchildren (and their parents!). It is so important that your car seats are installed and used correctly. I have made adjustments to my granddaughter's seat and will be installing the new baby's seat when he gets here. It's my small contribution to the family, but i think the most important one! A certified professional is your safest bet in having your child's car seat installation and use checked. Police, firefighters and nurses have big hearts, but without NHTSA certification, not necessarily right or safe. Be safe. Have a great summer! *photo- on a job last year with Denny Hamlin!

I recently attended the NHTSA Region 2 training conference. New car seats, updates and tons of new information. New Jersey this year, Pennsylvania next time. We had to leave 1/2 day early before the snowstorm hit. This is the year that car seats were supposed to be designed to fit a Ford Flex backseat. Currently they are built to fit a 1970 Chevy van. If you don’t have a 2970 Chevy van, you have to know how to make the car seat fit your vehicle backseat. Now that’s why people need professional help to learn how to fit your car. Let’s hope this design change to a better mid backseat- the Ford Flex- happens soon to allow better fit!

Being on the east coast this past month and it has been sooo cold! Wind, snow, rain. I’ve been reminding parents to make sure the kids do not wear any jackets, coats, sweaters or fleece in their car seat harnesses. The kids should wear a pair of thermals or micro fibers, then their non- bulky street clothes, then a nice snug harness. Cover the child with a blanket until the car warms up. Once parents discover that padding a child in the harness creates so much room for the child to be tossed around inside the harness that will cause internal damage in a crash, they understand when I say ‘Pin them to the seat’ . Make sure that chest clip center is at the top of the armpits. Tighten the harness and pinch at the legs, tummy and shoulders for snugness. It will soon be warm again, but for now, travel safely!

Well! I am finally back east to visit home and hubby after being west coast and Canada working all summer. Thanks to the great production companies and clients I have been fortunate enough to work with! Call me when you need me. And you need me Anytime you use a child under 4'9" tall in a vehicle! I function as Technical Advisor, Safety, Legal, and crew. When it comes to Child Passenger safety, there is no one with our experience and skill in the industry. I cannot post photos yet, as the commercials have not aired yet. Soon I hope. P.S. my Canadian work papers are ready to go. Don't Think you know Child Passenger Safety... hire the expert- Kidzseatz, and be sure! 310.691.9388

Word to the wise.. There are tons of online resale sites these days. Do not buy a carseat from them. First, many if not most are expired. Yes, all carseats expire. There is a label on the seat with the company phone number and build date of the seat with the model and batch number. Call the company and get the expiration date of that seat. Buying from strangers is not a good way to go. The seat may have been in a crash, missing parts, harness routed wrong and more.... Now if you have friends or family whose child outgrows the seat and it has not been in a crash, and is not expired, you should be ok. I've seen folks with an infant seat base bought through eBay that was missing the adjustable foot and the buyer had no idea an integral piece was missing. Thinking of selling a used seat? Be conscious of the expiration date. If expired - cut the harness straps and write expired on the seat with a marker and trash it or recycle it. If you need a seat, do your homework. Your child's life is at stake. See a professional CPST NOT to install for you but to teach you all about this most important safety equipment your child has. See more

Thanks for the great response and setting up training appointments. I have a few openings still open the second and third weeks of october. At least for now. I'll be headed East again in mid-November. I appreciate your enthusiasm in learning all about your child's carseat. We know their safety is your number 1 priority. Just a couple shots of a Hundai job I worked a few years back. 110 degree weather and having to crawl into the car with a 1/2 opened window cuz the car was on a bisqit trailer. Fun, but not fun...

I wanted to Thank all my clients and production companys I have had the privilege to work with over the past 20 years! This is a really difficult decision, but it is time to retire. I will still make myself available to answer questions or consult on commercials without traveling. I have had so much pleasure and satisfaction over the years helping parents and caregivers keep their precious children safe and being a small part of car companies’ commercials and print ads to... show correct usage of carseats and boosters. Thank you everyone! Its been a great 20 years. Bye Bye See more
