The month of March is Brain Injury Awareness month, many participate in events in their areas such as walks, post to their pages to raise awareness, or volunteer for their cause. Whatever it is that you might do for the cause this month, thank you for supporting this cause and helping increase awareness. Brain injury continues to be the number one cause of death and disability in children affecting over 1370 children a day.

So a quick poll: After your (or your child's) TBI, how many were referred to an Endocrinologist, or told that following a TBI, it is common to experience endocrine issues?

Ready to be a Holiday Hero? We have two so far! It can be $1 or $100, any amount can make a difference in the life of a child forever affected by brain injury! Our hearts and prayers go out to the families in Newtown, Conn and we hope the families and community can find peace and comfort in each-other to get through this tragedy.

It's that time a year, when we think of other's less fortunate than ourselves, or families who are experiencing what we have went through in the past. This year we will be delivering 400 toys and over 50 blankets to families of children with brain injury both in the hospital and at home. Please consider opening your hearts and pocketbooks to help support and give hope to these special families!

We have had the privilege, over the last several years, of watching this young man recover from his brain injury, and through his determination and drive has exceeded all expectations, becoming a top high school runner and athlete. Tomorrow he runs his last high school race, go Nate!!

I am loving all the helmet commercial and PSA's regarding helmet use. This is our "PSA of the week" PM us suggestions for your favorite Helmet video and it might make a week of it's own!
