Appropriate professional history could include direct services, policy/advocacy, organizing, and/or capacity building preferably in an LGBTQ+ or allied social justice movement. Regardless of background, candidates should have a track record of setting strategic vision and motivating staff, Board, volunteers, and external constituents of diverse backgrounds to work collaboratively toward shared goals. Thrilled to share the news that we have concluded our search for the CEO of Equality Texas. Congratulations to Ricardo Martinez who'll take the reigns on December 2nd. Ricardo joins EQTX from Stand for Children where he has been leading a national organizing and constituent engagement effort. Immediately prior, he spent several years with GLSEN; initially as Senior Manager of Field Services on the national team in NYC and later as the President of the Phoenix Chapter. Ricar...do has an undergraduate degree from Stony Brook, and a master’s in nonprofit management from The New School in NYC. A gay, bilingual, Latinx person and immigrant to the U.S., Ricardo brings an intersectional lens to his work from both his lived and professional experience that will serve LGBTQ Texas well.
