This Saturday, the Kern Wheelmen will sponsor a ride in Creston Ca to ride the Wildflower route. The Wildflower Century was cancelled again this year due to Covid. There will be a 25mile, 51 mile, 75mile and Century option available. We are waiting for parking info before posting this as an event. ... Please make plans to join. When we do post the event in the next day or so, please indicate if you are planning to join or not so we can have an idea for food availability. More info to follow as soon as we hear from Creston. The high predicted is 72 degrees so the riding conditions should be cool and comfortable.

Ride a fairly flat Century with Board member Petra Ramirez and member Abel Rivera and others. This ride repeats on the last Sunday of every month. This is not a beginners Century due the speed of the group. The average speed over the course is 16 to 17 mph for the distance. That means that they are traveling at 20 mph a lot of the time.... If you believe that you can ride at that speed, feel free to start with the group. The ride may stop at Richgrove which will make it 95 miles versus 101 miles. The route map shows going into Ducor. That short section doesn't have a shoulder so be aware and understand if conditions don't appear to be safe, the ride leader will decide not to go to Ducor. The ride starts at Beach Park at 7am. Please go to Kern Wheelmen the website at https://kernwheelmen.org/calendar/ and click on Petra's Century to get more information and to see and/or download the route.
