North Central Fire

North Central Fire Protection District was recently awarded a $120,000 CalOES community power resiliency grant to purchase two new station generators to ensure continuous power supply to our stations during a disaster or power interruption. Solid work by the team to secure this important funding!

Congratulations to Battalion Chief Jonathon Kutka for being selected to attend the National Fire Academy's, Executive Fire Officer Program (EFOP)!! The EFOP is one of the premier officer and leadership development programs in the Country. The Executive Fire Officer (EFO) Program is the flagship program of the National Fire Academy (NFA). It provides senior fire officers with a broad perspective on various facets of fire and emergency medical services (EMS) administration. The courses and accompanying research examine how to exercise leadership when dealing with difficult or unique problems within communities. The District looks forward to supporting him through the process. Congratulations again. North Central Fire Protection District is proud to support the Fresno City College Fire Academy with this apparatus donation. The District donated a 1995 international, 3000 gallon water tender to the Academy this week. The District and the College collaborate frequently through the internship program, training offerings, instructor support, and facilities/props usage to better serve our District and train our firefighters. Looking forward to seeing this apparatus be put to use.

As the District grows one of our strategic investments is to enhance the training resources available to our members. The District just took receipt of these forcible entry props made by East Coast Rescue Solutions. There is a crush door, a forcible entry door, and all in one prop. Thanks to our Training committee for researching and recommending this.

The last couple weeks have been busy for the North Central Fire Protection District. Last Wednesday the District started our second six week Firefighter Trainee Academy of the year, class 2021-2. The District is grateful to have Eight new firefighter trainees start their new journey in public service with North Central Fire. We look forward to the next few weeks seeing them grow into our family, integrate into our community, and master the skills needed to serve our District.
