This special event will include scholarship awardees, as well as a special message from Dr. William Loudon, MD, PHD, (Chair and Neurosurgeon at CHOC Children's Hospital Orange County) Dr. Loudon is a remarkable doctor who has treated several of the kids Kenny the Printer has supported over the year. ... We are so honored to have such an amazing cause just walking distance from our shop... And excited about this new friendship. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and now more than ever, we need a cure. Every day 46 kids are diagnosed with cancer in the US. 7 sadly never get the opportunity to grow up. Organizations such as PCRF (Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation) are working incredibly hard to change these statistics... Working to ensure our children have a future. Were you at CHOC Walk this weekend? One of our designers was among the thousands participating to raise money for CHOC Children's Hospital at Walk in the Park on August 27th. Disneyland and California Adventure were packed full of walkers, all of whom there to celebrate this special hospital. It was a day of remembering those who are no longer with us, those currently fighting and those who are now thriving. We are so thankful for everything CHOC Children's does to support our kids and their families. Congratulations to all those who participated this weekend in the Hood to Coast Relay Race. Through their support these runners raised $715K to support Providence Cancer Center... For so many of us at Kenny the Printer, our philosophy is giving back to our community. Our Senior Vice President, Stan Spencer and his team are running this race once again this year. Kenny's Purpose: Here at Kenny the Printer we live by the philosophy of giving back to the community that gives so much back to us. For Frank Davern, our Corporate Accounts Sales Rep, he does this by providing his services as a trail assistant for California State Parks at Crystal Cove. Every month, Frank hits the trails to provide water and guidance to hikers along the way. Last month when asked by a hiker why he gives his time to this cause, Frank admitted, "I work for a ...company that encourages its employees to volunteer I enjoy hiking, so this is my way of giving my time and supporting a good cause." Of course, his rescue dogs don't mind taking advantage of the beautiful daily walks as well Although the one usually hitches a ride in Frank's arms for part of the walk. :) If you meet Frank on the trails, stop by, grab a bottle of water and say hi We would love to connect.
