Moorpark Depot gets approved by City Council. This is especially personal to me as I serve on the City's Ad Hoc Committee to negotiate the Development Agreement. We worked on this project for 2 years and the Daly Group did an excellent job fitting the project to meet the community needs and design. I have not posted in awhile. The reason is that, like everyone, we are in the middle of a Pandemic. From the Commercial Real Estate side, we have been dealing with tenants struggling to either remain closed or starting to open under new Covid protocols. The good news is that small business owners should be very proud of themselves to understand and be so flexible in this unique environment. On the other side of the coin, we are starting to see some new tenant activity. There... are tenants out there that have done well during the pandemic and looking to expand. These include some grocery stores and many discount "Dollar Stores" that were determined to be "Essential Businesses". We understand there are vaccines in trials right now. Maybe their is a new direction in a few months. In either case, be safe, wear a mask, practice social distancing and wash your hands.

OXNARD-THOUSAND OAKS-VENTURA METROPOLITAN STATISTICAL AREA (MSA) (Ventura County) The unemployment rate in the Ventura County was 3.9 percent in August 2019, unchanged from a revised 3.9 percent in July 2019, and below the year-ago estimate of 4.0 percent. This compares with an unadjusted unemployment rate of 4.2 percent for California and 3.8 percent for the nation during the same period. Between July 2019 and August 2019, total nonfarm employment decreased from 307,900 t...o 308,000, a gain of 100 jobs. Agricultural employment decreased by 1,900 jobs. Professional & Business Services (up 500) posted the largest employment month-over-month employment gain. Educational & Health Services gained 400 jobs. Construction added 100 jobs. Government, Financial Activities and Information remained flat. Leisure & Hospitality (down 600) posted the largest month-over-month employment loss. Trade, Transportation & Utilities shed 200 jobs. Manufacturing lost 100 jobs. Between August 2018 and August 2019, total nonfarm employment increased by 400 jobs. Agricultural employment lost 100 jobs. Construction (up 900) posted the largest employment year-over-year employment gain. Manufacturing over the year gained 600 jobs. Financial Activities added 300 jobs. Professional & Business Services gained 100 jobs. Trade, Transportation & Utilities (down 800) posted the largest year-over-year employment loss. Leisure & Hospitality, Government and Information each lost 200 jobs. Educational & Health Services lost 100 jobs.
