This article really resonates for me. I believe that despite all the suffering depression causes us, it usually has a purpose. There is something our mind and body want us to know and feel. Depression is incredibly painful, and sometimes the necessary path to clarity.

This therapist is very on track with her parenting advice. These are many of the same things I have concluded and observed in my work with kids and families.
