I'm curious to know, and we may just have to wait until it unfolds... but is anyone else wondering how many tenants are only paying their landlord 25% of their rent that's been due for the past 15 months? Because the CDC imposed a Temporary Eviction Halt from September of 2020 through June of 2021 (which actually started in March of 2020), landlords could not evict based on non-payment, as long as the tenant was affected financially by Covid-19 and was paying at least 25% of ...their rent, along with other necessary documentation. That's due to expire the end of June. Along with being in a housing shortage for those who want to purchase homes, the rental market is just as bad. My curious mind is starting to wonder how many landlords are going to evict and sell? If that happens, the rental market stands to get even worse because.... where will those renters go??
