During nap time we continue to practice social distancing. 6 feet apart from alternating head to head and shields.

Seems like forever ago when the children could eat their meals at the table. Now, during Covid 19 they have to seat 6 ft apart.

This is the reality for Daycares during the the Covid 19 Pandemic. Daycare providers are on the frontline of this Pandemic providing a much needed service to the brave Healthcare workers, Law Enforcement, Senior Caregivers, Supply chain workers, Delivery and Transport Workers and many more. Many of them couldn’t do their job without us. We are struggling to keep our mortgages paid, keep food on our tables ( to feed our family and the daycare children ), meet payroll and f...ind PPE and cleaning/ sanitizing supplies. We have to make children wear masks and pretend those masks make them super heroes. We wear gloves and masks all day, We take temperatures at the door and can’t allow parents inside. We have to have class and playtime while making sure the children are socially distancing. Our hands are dry from anti bacterial soap and sanitizer and we’re price gouged at stores when we try to buy the PPE and cleaning supplies we need. We literally just spent $300 on gloves and sanitizer. The 8oz bottles of sanitizer were $12.99 Those of us who have chosen to stay open do so with little money coming in. Most have lost most or all of their clients- hopefully temporarily, but either way cash flow is an issue. All of this, with the knowledge that we are putting ourselves and our own families at risk. As for me, I’m grateful for my frontline team( my employees) because they know I’m at higher risk than most due to autoimmune diseases and they allow me to remain behind the scenes as much as possible while they care for the little ones.

When a journalist calls and asks for an interview that will be posted within three hours, well you just go with it. Not the best photo, but it represents our current reality. We were among a small number of grantees who received a $5000 grant from Working Solutions. It’s a beginning, but more may be needed for us to continue the quality of care that we are used to providing. Childcare providers need as much help as they can get. We need our elected officials to hear our stories. We need PPE and we need it now!! We need funding and we need it now!! See more

Childcare Providers need access to PPE and cleaning supplies in order to safely care for the children of frontline/essential workers and we need it now.
