Rotary Club of Kearny Mesa 5th Annual volunteer service at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego. Covid-19 protocols limited the number of volunteers allowed, but it didn’t stop our efforts as 3 Rotarians and Chef Eric prepped, cooked, served, and package around 100+ meals and cleaned. Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego provides a home-away-from-home for families with children being treated for serious, often life-threatening conditions at local hospitals. #ServiceAboveSelf #RotariansInAction

If you are interested in Minecraft and want to help the Salvation Army serve families in need in Kenai AK, you can join their first-ever Minecraft Livestream on FB, YT, and Twitch! Wednesday, Nov. 24th, 6-7 pm (PST)! It's not too late to enter the contest by following the steps in the flyer below. This is a fun way of connecting a game that most of our kids are familiar with and giving back to those who are in need. Thank you to our former club member Captain Brandon Kyle of The Salvation Army Kenai Peninsula Corps for sharing this fun fundraising event.
Thank you to our club President Chen Ni for the Rotary themed birthday cake to celebrate our club members Suzie Ditmars and Jeanie Le.
Today we celebrate those who’ve given their lives for our country and those who’ve lived to see their sacrifices bear the fruit of freedom. Thank you for putting us first. Happy Veterans Day.
October 30th, 2021 Our 5th Annual Food Service at the Urban Angels Dining Hall. Due to COVID-19 protocols, we we’re only allowed a small group of volunteers at this years event. Our Rotarians and Path kitchen crew prepped and packaged 75 warm meals to the underprivileged San Diegans that reside at PATH Housing. Tonight’s dinner was Hearty Beef Stew, Rice, Bread, and Chocolate Banana Bread Pudding. Urban Angels is a Nonprofit Organization formed to nourish and provide food for the homeless of San Diego. From cooking to serving to cleaning, Urban Angels run the entire kitchen at Connections Housing, a state of the art service center and residential community designed to reduce street homelessness. They provide food services to Connections residents 7 days a week, 365 days of the year.

Could you or someone you know benefit from a free meal? Many community partners around San Diego are working to provide everyone with a Thanksgiving meal during this difficult time. See the attached flyer for the days and times of free meal distribution throughout San Diego.
Congratulations to the winners and participants of the San Diego Asian Americans For Equality (SDAAFE) 2020 Census Flyer Contest. Please click on the link below to see the 2020 Census Flyers. http://www.sdaafe.org//list-winners-2020-census-flyer-con/... Why is the 2020 Census so important? The 2020 Census will provide a snapshot of our nationwho we are, where we live, and so much more. The results of this once-a-decade count determine the number of seats each state has in the House of Representatives. They are also used to draw congressional and state legislative districts. Over the next decade, lawmakers, business owners, and many others will use 2020 Census data to make critical decisions. The results will show where communities need new schools, new clinics, new roads, and more services for families, older adults, and children. The results will also inform how hundreds of billions of dollars in federal funding are allocated to more than 100 programs, including Medicaid, Head Start, block grants for community mental health services, and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, also known as SNAP.
Congratulations
Stay safe everyone!
