Congratulations to Trinity Trinh and Tommy Galaviz, the athletes chosen by Coach Sachs to receive vouchers from the Alumni Association for Letterman Jackets!! Thanks to the generosity of our alumni members, we are able to award two jackets per year to very deserving athletes. Go Komets!!!

Hello Alumni!! A couple of updates: 1. Trustee elections are in March! Details on how to vote coming soon! And, if anyone is interested in getting more involved in the association, please reach out. To be a trustee, you need to commit to two things: 1) Attend monthly meetings (currently via Zoom) and 2) Chair and/or volunteer for Alumni events. 2. We're still waiting to schedule the Hall of Fame, Car Show & Golf Tournament. We hope to have some dates in the next month...'ish, so stay tuned!!! 3. Lastly, THANK YOU to those that have generously donated to the alumni association! It's been a tough year, so we appreciate your spirit!!! Go Komets!!!

Update on 2021 Events: We are waiting for the school district rental office to open (they've been closed, along with the school) so we can schedule our 2021 events on the Kearny campus. Events include the 2020/21 Hall of Fame Ceremony, the Car Show, and the Alumni Potluck Picnic, which, if held on campus, could include a fun flag football game!! Once we have those dates, we can then schedule the Golf Tournament. Thank you for your patience and your continued contribution...s while we work through all the craziness!! To continue highlighting various programs your membership dues and donations sponsor, one of our more popular programs is the Hall Of Fame Ceremony & Dinner. Created to celebrate distinguished alumnus, of which there are many, recipients have made a significant impact in one of five categories including 1) Community Service 2) Visual and Performing Arts or Journalism 3) Government Service 4) Sports or Business and 5) Science or Education. Nominated by fellow alumni and vo...ted on by the Board of Trustees, the first recipients were inducted in 2011 and included Cleavon Little, Harold Greene, Ron Roberts; several coaches including Fred Bates, Tom Barnett, Birt Slater and Jack Taylor; as well as faculty like Mr. Z’, Edward Ortiz, Erlene Speck; and a few outstanding athletes like Alan Trammell and Ed Buchanan! This first group also included a Medal of Honor recipient, John Baca. We are able to celebrate these and other recipients through your support, so THANK YOU!! Also, as a contributing member, you have access to special content on our website, including the Museum and the Hall of Fame, which highlights all recipients over the last 10 years!
