Absolutely - TV shows that we’ve seen before are regulating for our nervous system. If a TV show is unfamiliar, and we only watch one episode at a time, our nervous system can be left in an activated state, depending on the storyline. With movies, our nervous system can also get activated, but usually there is a resolution that supports our nervous system in regulating by the end of the movie.

"Giftedness" is usually a shortened term to mean "intellectual giftedness" or high complexity/ability in the intellectual realm. But most of us are aware that o...ther forms of intelligence and giftedness (high complexity/ability) do exist, including creative, emotional, physical, sensual and even existential intelligence/giftedness. Society has often looked at intellectually gifted people as being mostly brains (complex thought), but it usually much more involved than that. Many intellectually gifted people have a mix of high complexity/ability across intelligence domains. And what's more, the way those domains interact and influence each other makes each person's giftedness and its ideal expression/potential a very unique signature and journey. Other factors can influence the signature and journey, such as overexcitabilities and neurodivergences. Understanding our unique giftedness signature is an important part of fully embodying our high complexity/ability and leading ourselves confidently on our own unique path. It's why we've developed our assessment services: to guide adults who are ready to learn about and embrace their unique complexity/high ability profile, factoring in all the areas of their intelligence -- not just the intellectual, as important as it may be.
