I’ve purposely disconnected to get some much needed time to reconnect with family, friends and myself. Sleeping in, lazy days in my pj’s and just moving at a snails pace feels pretty good.

Today I turn 62 and I’m taking this day to reflect on how far I’ve come in just a few short years! It’s honestly so humbling and truly a dream come true! This flower dream is no longer a light in the distance, it is a small but successful little business that I grew from a dream that I had pushed aside for years but once I was brave enough to jump I never looked back! To my children who have taught me more than I have themyou are the foundation of my soul and without you no...thing would be as it is. She was creating using flowers from two farms @laurelcanyonfarm and @hammockandspade and some special bits from my garden. She’s going to be bringing some love to a picnic @calipicnics table tomorrow, can’t wait!

PRESSING PAUSE I’ve never really been very good at these squares but I’ve always anxiously posted on a regular basis trying to keep you engaged and hopefully attract new faces to gain exposure. Even through COVIDbut 2021 she has managed to occupy every moment of my day and most days I could use a few extra hours! Anyone else?! So I’m doing myself a favor and pressing pause from posting but will try to keep my Stories updated, fingers crossed, even that’s been a challenge. ...Nooo time. To those who have shown me grace and those whose words of encouragement fill methank you! Let’s talk dried flowers before I go back to my rabbit hole! These were dried from leftovers and my garden! Three boxes of beautiesranunculus, dahlias, roses, peonies, and straw flower to name a few. These pretties will be featured on the top of mini cube organic soaps being created by @liannasoap and then flown with her to Hawaii. They are going to be the #weddingfavors at her friends wedding and all the flowers are in her color palette! I’m so in love with this idea! I will soon be offering these to my couplesthoughts? I’ve also got an idea for a keepsake from my couples personal flowers but that’s going to have to wait for 2022!

A dainty bouquet full of local pretties and the roses are from mostly from my garden! For sweet Eva a November Bride of mine who has her engagement photos at @sanfranciscocityhallwedding today. Can’t wait to see the photos!

Busy busy busy but I’m not complaining one bit. I’ve been creating lots of personal pieces lately and I’m so obsessed with them! I’m so inspired by @passionflowersue and her elaborate wearables, her book #wearableflowers is such a gift and has absolutely played a role in my designs going to another level, thank you Sue This is a hair piece I made this week for one of my beautiful brides @ashmdrew from flowers that I naturally dried myself. She will wear it at the back of her head and if you swipe left you’ll see all the little bits that will be glued in her long beautiful hair! Ashley and Mark, like a lot of couples, have had their wedding dreams on hold for quite some time and we are so excited to finally be having a wedding in July!

Distant Drums Rose is a hybrid belonging to the garden shrub roses. The admiration is for their beauty, resilience, and mild fragrance which is a combination of myrrh and licorice. It’s wonderful rose with one of the most unique colorings in rosedom. Why do we humans admire and easily see the beauty in all the different types, colors, and shapes of flowers, trees, and plants and yet we lack the same ability to do so with each other. It’s a sad gut-wrenching reality that has... Black boys and men, Black girls and women being murdered by those said to serve and protect them. But they don’t protect, they don’t serve and Black people know it in a way that I or any white person can ever. We’ve been sold a system that is killing our people, our fellow human beings. This is eggstra special for a few reasons but I’ll talk about the eggs I used in this arrangement. You might remember I had posted on my stories the beautiful eggs I had gotten from @laurelcanyonfarm a month or so ago. Anyway, I fell in love with the color and with Easter being around the corner I new I’d use them somehow! So I carefully poked a small hole in one end and gently (it took awhile) removed all the egg. This way I could still use them for scrabbled eggs! Swipe right to see what I made using moss as a water source for the flowers. Happy Easter flower family.

I’ve got a grateful heart over here because you guys did it again...I’m officially sold out! I can’t wait for you too see all the local beauty I am blessed to play with! These roses are locally grown in Watsonville @californiapajarosafloral knows how to grow some roses! Beyond thankful for the relationships I’ve developed with local growers! I swear I’m feeling giddy and joyfull being surrounded by all these beauties...I’ve missed you so!

It’s been a challenging year for so many and for so many reasons. I’ve been grateful for the few couple’s weddings that were, with lots of juggling for many but worth all your efforts, able to take place this year. I was fortunate to have a few mini weddings along the way and I’m here to say I love them! To my couples who were this year and have now rescheduled to next, I appreciate you all and cannot wait to be creating lots of flower magic for your special day. A special thank you to all the local growers who’s hard work and dedication allow me to play with the most glorious blooms, my work is better because of you.

I am so excited for tomorrow’s shoot with some exceptional women @dashacantexist @arinaizadi @nschlaeppi.photo and we are so excited to have Molly & Cole of Northern Roots Bee Co. @northernrootsbeeco collaborating with us. Molly brought us the most beautiful honeycomb still in its frame for us to incorporate! Most of you probably know that the Bee population is declining and that they are key to helping plants grow, breed, and produce food. Northern Roots Bee Co. is on a mission to repopulate Bees and educate us on how we can be a part of the process! Dreaming of the day when I’ll have proper land to grow on. Where my garden roses will grow tall and wild not being constrained in the pots they grow in now. A small cottage with a separate studio space would be lovely don’t you think...just putting it out there in case someone’s listening.
