Great article! I would add encouraging your child to be a "risk-taker" and I mean that in the most positive way. Taking risks to try new things, being different from their peers, and acknowledging to them that it is okay to fail (love the baseball analogy). When did failure become such a dirty word? These days when everyone gets a trophy who participates, it sends the message that its not okay to win or lose. Teaching children to win with grace and humility and that it's okay to lose might help them to feel less disillusioned and more motivated to give it another go.
